How to open your inbox again later
How do you get back into an inbox you used before?
Go to the home page, paste the full address into Open an existing inbox, and press the button. The inbox opens with every message it has ever received, oldest to newest, plus anything that arrived while you were away. No password, no code, no waiting.
Why nothing has been deleted
Most free mail-address tools delete the inbox after ten minutes or a day. This one does not. Addresses and messages here are kept — that is the whole point of the site. If you created an address in March and come back in December, March's mail is still there.
That is also the reason the address alone is enough to open it. There is no account and no password to check, so the address has to be the key.
If it says the address was not found
Three things cause that, in order of likelihood:
- A typo. The whole address is needed, including the part after the @.
daniel.hayeswill not open anything;daniel.hayes@example-domain.netwill. - The address was never created here. Only addresses this site issued can be opened here. An address from another provider will not work.
- The domain has been switched off. Rare, but if a whole domain has been withdrawn you will be told exactly that — "this domain is not available" — rather than a vague error.
Keeping the address somewhere safe
Because the address is the key, treat it like one:
- paste it into your password manager as a note, or
- keep it in the same place you keep the account it was used for.
Your browser also remembers the last address you opened on this device, and offers it under Open an existing inbox — but that is a convenience, not a backup. Clearing your browser data clears it.
Can someone else open my inbox?
Yes, if they have the exact address. There is no second factor. That is the trade-off for never asking you to sign up, and it is why this is the wrong place for anything sensitive. For sign-ups, codes and newsletters, it is exactly right.
Does the inbox update while I am looking at it?
Yes. New messages appear on their own within a few seconds of arriving — no refresh, no polling button. If you are waiting for a code, leave the page open and it will show up at the top of the inbox by itself.
Opening the same inbox on another device
The address is all that is needed, so an inbox opened on a laptop opens just as well on a phone. Nothing is tied to a device, a browser or a session. That is the same property that makes the address worth protecting: it works for anyone who has it, anywhere.
Old mail and new mail together
Reopening does not start a fresh inbox. Everything the address has ever received is listed newest first, with "Show older messages" at the bottom for long histories. Attachments stay attached, and codes stay visible in the messages that carried them.
