Privacy policy

This policy explains what temp-mail.zone stores, why, and who can see it. The short version: we ask you for nothing, we keep the mail your address receives so you can come back to it, and anyone who has your address can open its inbox.
What we store
Email you receive. For every message sent to one of our addresses we store the message itself, including the sender, subject, date, body and attachments, along with technical details such as the time it arrived. Message bodies and attachments are encrypted on our servers.
Addresses. We keep a record of every address we have created, so an address is never handed to someone else.
Technical data. To keep the service running and stop abuse, we process your IP address when you use the site. We store IP addresses only in a one-way scrambled (hashed) form for rate limiting and abuse prevention, and our server logs are rotated regularly.
Cookies. We set a small number of cookies that the site needs in order to work: one that remembers which inboxes this browser has opened, and one that protects our forms from cross-site attacks. We do not use advertising cookies. If we turn on website analytics, we will say so here and name the provider.
Your browser. The site may remember the last address you opened in your browser's own storage, so it can fill in the "Open my inbox" box for you. This never leaves your device.
What we don't collect
We never ask for your name, phone number, date of birth or any other personal details. There is no account.
Who can see your inbox
- Anyone who knows the exact address. There is no password. Opening an inbox only needs the full address, so keep it to yourself and do not use it for sensitive accounts.
- Our support staff, when they need to help with a problem or investigate abuse. Staff access is limited to people we have approved, and every time a staff member opens an inbox it is logged.
- Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or share addresses or messages with advertisers or data brokers. We will disclose information only if we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
Addresses and messages are kept indefinitely, because being able to come back is the point of the service. Mail that arrives for an address we never created is not delivered to anyone and is removed after 30 days.
We keep encrypted backups so that mail is not lost if something goes wrong on a server.
Removing an address
Email support@temp-mail.zone with the address you want removed. We will delete the address's messages and attachments and stop showing the inbox. For security, the address itself will not be given to anyone else afterwards.
Children
temp-mail.zone is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly store information about them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the home page for a while.
